Good Reading Magazine is looking for new reviewers to join our sensational team in 2017! Every month we publish up to 40 reviews in the print magazine and on our website. We’re seeking reviewers who are able to write intelligent, informed, and digestible considerations of fiction and non-fiction books. Our reviews are usually under 300 words, so conciseness is key!
In particular, we’re after people who are keen to review:
- Commercial and literary fiction
- Historical fiction
- Fantasy and sci-fi
- Australia non-fiction
- Crime/thriller (especially Australian titles)
If you want to get a feel for the type of review we publish, check out these examples available online: Salt Creek, Goodwood, Words in Deep Blue, Man in the Corner, Big Magic and The Bricks that Built the Houses.
If you’d like to apply, please send a 300 word sample review of any book you’ve read recently to firstname.lastname@example.org along with the genres you’d be interested in reviewing, and any other relevant writing experience. Include some of your favourite books and authors to help us get a feel for your literary taste. Successful reviewers will receive a free subscription to all of our online and print services, and free books, of course! Please note that there are limited places available and we are only able to consider people who live in Australia.
