Yesterday morning we had a visit from one of Australia’s bestselling children’s writers, Andy Griffiths (in the green t-shirt with the black jacket). He met up with our facebook readers and answered some questions. And we had a long chat about his writing and his involvement with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. He has a great sense of humour as you’d expect but Andy is also really serious about what he does. He was a teacher of primary age children before his life as a full time writer. We talked about how not every kid wants to write. He would get them to be creative by making labels for jars of corn relish (which looks just like vomit of course!) and before they knew it they were writing creatively. I have to say he’s a very inspirational guy.
